OUR GUIDELINES

Address standardization plays an important role in Address Verification. It is impossible to verify a postal address unless the postal authority sets guidelines for address formatting. The first step in checking the validity of a postal address is to standardize the address by using the postal authorities standards. An example of standardization would be that the United States Postal Service and Canadian Post require all letters in a postal address to be capitalized.

Address standardization by itself greatly increases delivery time and likelihood of a successful delivery. Unfortunately, standardization is not a complete solution. To ensure all mail is delivered, it is also necessary to make sure the address is accurate with Address Correction and check if the address can be delivered to with Address Validation.
